Top Ten Tuesday: My Favorite TV Shows

With the fall season just around the corner, this week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about our favorite TV shows. A lot of my favorite shows are "older," but what can I say? I still love them!

1.  Dawson's Creek - Ok, well, I am probably showing my age here, but I grew up watching this show and I may or may not still be obsessed with Pacey.

2.  Felicity -  This show tugged on my heartstrings. One of the best TV shows ever made as far as I am concerned.

3.  Sex and the City - I own every season. I will never tire of this show.

4.  Downton Abbey -  I am still mourning the loss of this phenomenal show.

5.  Friday Night Lights -  I love everything about this show. Texas, Riggins, football, Coach Taylor, and of course, Tami Taylor.

6.  Outlander - Not only is this one of my favorite books, it's one of my favorite TV shows and I think it's one of the best currently on TV.  There's talented actors, fantastic acting, beautiful scenery, and gorgeous costumes.

7.  Parenthood - I ugly cried so hard when this show ended. I would love to watch all of the seasons all over again. Such a good show!

8.  Suits - I recently got into this show about a year ago and am throughly enjoying it. I love me some Harvy Spector and I always find myself laughing at Louis Litt.

9.  Game of Thrones -  I was falling off the bandwagon two seasons ago, but fell in love with this show again after watching this past season.  How epic was the penultimate episode and season finale?

10.  Beverly Hills, 90210 - I am pretty sure this show will always hold a special place in my heart.  I still love to watch the re-runs.

Runner-Up:

Poldark  - I really enjoyed the book and watching it come to life on TV.  I hear season two is even edgier and the trailer for it definitely looks intense.

So, what are some of your favorite TV shows? Are you looking forward to any new TV shows coming out this fall? Let me know in the comments below. This meme is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

  1. Bless you for sharing that Poldark GIF ;)

I only watched a few episodes of Dawson's Creek and Felicity though I liked both. Probably because I was in college at the time. When I was a teen, I wasn't really allowed to watch 90210 so I've only seen maybe one or two episodes. I wasn't even allowed to watch Friends when it was first on though I started watching it later as a young adult.

I miss Downton Abbey. While I am excited to see Victoria I don't think it will quite replace Downton.

Game of Thrones can be frustrating to watch especially as favorite characters are killed off but it is really starting to get exciting as we get to the end. Of course the books will probably go in a totally different direction. I could see George R.R. Martin writing a Sopranos-like ending where everything fades to white and we never definitively know what happens.

I actually never finished watching Poldark because I read about the books and something happens later on that really upset me so I quit watching. Recently I read that the show will be handling it in a different way so I am going to be catching up on the last few episodes I missed and watching season 2 :)

    1. Haha. You're welcome, Christina. It's one of my favorite GIFs. :) I have high hopes for Victoria as well. Fingers crossed! Yes, it will be interesting to see where GoT is going to go next season. I have never read the books, but my husband has and says that they aren't following the books exactly. So, who knows what will happen?? Thanks for the heads up regarding Poldark. I read the first book and enjoyed it, but haven't picked up the second. I am interested to see where season two of the show will take us though. Thanks for visiting!

    1. Parenthood is phenomenal. Highly recommended. I am so sad it's over. And yes, Poldark is great if you enjoy historical fiction; plus, he is pretty easy on the eyes. :) Thanks for visiting!

  6. I completely agree with you about Game of Thrones. I loved seasons 1-3 but was losing interest until the latest season which really got me back into it.
    Here's my TTT this week.

    1. Yes! I have watched all the seasons, but was way more into last season than the season prior. The writing was much better I thought. I am interested to see where it will go. Thanks for visiting, Ellis, and I am glad you agree!

  8. I'm pretty much the same age as the characters in Dawson's Creek (they were the class of 2001, I was 2002), so watching that show is like stepping back in time to my teenager years! I was also kind of in love with Pacey, and I could never understand how Joey could even *think* of dating Dawson instead!

I'm excited to watch the rest of the first season, hopefully before season two comes out! I still need to watch Friday Night Lights as well. It sounds so good! :)

  10. Sigh.I want to cry every time I remember there will be no more Downton. I don't think there will ever be anything quite as wonderful. :'(
