Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Books Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  I'm excited to participate; after all, I make lists FOR EVERYTHING!  This week we are to discuss our favorite reads, but it's limited to the lifespan of our blog only.  I started blogging December of 2009 and since then I've read some incredible books.  Let me know what you think! And in no particular order.......

1.  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- This book was so addictive. I can't wait to read the sequel.

2.  The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen- I love Dessen and this book is one of my favorites. It's a great summer read, too.

3.  Summer series by Jenny Han- This is by far my favorite contemporary series. I'm obsessed. Most of you are probably tired of hearing me talk about my love for this story.

4.  The White Queen by Philippa Gregory- I love historical fiction and Gregory never lets me down. This is my favorite out of the Cousins' War series.

5.  Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready- This book took me by surprise and easily became one of my favorite paranormal reads. It's unique and unlike other books in its genre.

6. Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead - I LOVED this series and am still mourning its end.

7.  Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins- This book made me want to visit Paris. It's an awesome contemporary read and Perkins easily became one of my favorite authors.

8.  Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare- I have only read the first three in the series, but I really enjoyed them.  They are highly addictive and suspenseful. I need to get caught up with the other books in the series. I also hear there is going to be a movie based on the first book, City of Bones. Yes, please!

9.  The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting- This book is one of the first ARCs I ever reviewed here at the blog and I fell in love with Derting's story.  It's gripping and had me on the edge of my seat, but there's also some very sweet romance. Sigh....Jay!

10.  If I Stay by Gayle Forman- I went through a box of tissues reading this powerful book.  It's incredible and so very moving.

  1. You have some of my favorites on this list Christina! I absolutely adored the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, it just blew me away. And Michelle Hodkin is quite possibly the cutest person ever. Love her:) Anna and the French Kiss is one I can (and have) read again and again and never tire of it. SO GOOD!

  4. It get really hard when you have a couple of years under your belt, doesn't it? I feel a little envy toward the newbies this week! I had to cut some really beloved books like Mara Dyer, If I Stay, and Anna and the French Kiss. You have a great list here!

  6. I accidentally somehow followed Sarah Dessen on Twitter and I have yet to read one of her books...I'm still not sure how I followed her. :D

I have Book 1 of the mortal instruments on my Kindle (picked it up when it was on sale for $.99! yay!), and I'm saving it for when I just can't take the barely edited crap that makes it on the top 100 free list. :D

  10. Anna and the French Kiss is a definite favourite of mine - it would be on my list, except I didn't start book blogging until after I read it! If I Stay was great too, I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked it up, but it was such a brilliant concept and emotional without being overdone, I thought. I've only read the first in the Summer series, but I'm intrigued to see where the story goes!

  13. Anna and the French Kiss almost made my list. 10 books aren't a lot when you read a lot of books.

  14. The Vampire Academy series is also on my list. I loved those books! I am enjoying Bloodlines too but it isn't quite the same.

I also love Sarah Dessen's books though she didn't make my list. I'd already read most of her books before I started my blog (except for What Happened to Goodbye and Along For the Ride). Great list!

  16. Great list! I'm with you Linda, "French Kiss" was one of my favorites as well. Another great one not included on this list is "Kincaid and the Legal Massacre" by Curtis D. Carney. It is actually a historical fiction with a touch of romance, taking place during the turn of the century.
