April Confessions

So, I took a few weeks off to spend Easter with my family and prepare for my Summer Kickoff feature, which starts tomorrow! Woo hoo! This means warm days, sunshine, and hopefully a beach vacation are just around the corner. During the month of May, keep your eyes out for some fun summertime book reviews, fantastic giveaways, and my picks for the best 2014 beach reads. I can't wait to share my favorites with everyone!

Here's what I read this month:

 Books Read in April:
(All of these books, except for The Taking will be reviewed in May!)
1.  The Taking by Kimberly Derting - 4 out of 5 stars
2.  A Single Breath by Lucy Clarke - 4 out of 5 stars
3.  We Were Liars by E. Lockhart - 4 out of 5 stars
4.  Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly - 3.5 out of 5 stars
5.  One Hundred Names by Cecilia Ahern - 4 out of 5 stars
6.  The Sound by Sarah Alderson - 3.5 out of 5 stars
7.  Undone by Cat Clarke - 4.5 out of 5 stars
8.  Nantucket Red (Nantucket #2) by Leila Howland - 4.5 out of 5 stars
9.  Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel - 3 out of 5
10.  Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn - 4 out of 5 stars

1.  Favorite Book:  Nantucket Red by Leila Howland - You guys, beach reads are my thing and Leila Howland knows how to write good ones.

2.  Biggest Surprise:  Undone by Cat Clarke- I am still THINKING about this book. Wow.

3.  Biggest Disappointment: Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel - Ok, so the premise is awesome, right? Peter Pan meets surfing. I love me a good surfing story, but this one fell flat for me.

4.  Favorite Post:  My Latest Obsession- Veronica Mars. Anyone else a fan? I am still on season one, but I am loving it!

5.  Favorite Part of April: We had a few glorious days of weather that almost hit 80 degrees and I am pretty sure I, along with my little guy, were outside all day. It's so nice to be out amongst green grass, flowers, and chirping birds after this winter. Now if only it would stay that way!

I hope you guys enjoyed April. I have missed everyone and can't wait to get back to blogging. I am SO excited for the Summer Kickoff. Thanks for sticking with me during my break. I appreciate it. Now onto the summer reads!

  1. I've heard so many good things about Nantucket Blue/Red Christina! I really need to make time for those. You are not the first one to tell me Second Star falls a little flat and I'm so bummed! I have that one on my list for next week and I was hoping it would be amazing. *sigh* Looking forward to the summer event kickoff tomorrow!

  2. GREAT month for you. I am way behind in my reading this year...too many things going on in my life.

I see you are reading a Barbara Taylor Bradford book. I like her.

Have a great day, and thanks for entering the contest on my blog for Looking For Me. Good Luck.

    1. Thanks, Melissa! I hear you. I took like two months off from blogging when I was sick with morning sickness. It was horrible. I had it for 20+ weeks. I am LOVING Veronica Mars. I can't wait to see the movie. I hope you feel better soon and thanks for visiting!

  4. I ADORE Veronica Mars. But still haven't read the new book or seen the movie. Shame on me. I have the audio on hold at the library and as soon as it comes in, I'm buying the movie.

  5. I am eager to read your reviews of these because most of them are waiting for me on my TBR pile! Glad to know you loved Nantucket Red. I really liked Nantucket Blue but was kind of worried about the sequel living up to it.

    1. Thanks, Christina! I really liked the sequel and although it wasn't as magical as the first book, it was still a great beach read. I hope you'll like it! Thanks for visiting!
