December Confessions

Photo taken at my wedding
I can't believe we are already wrapping up December and that tonight is New Year's Eve! This month flew by.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. I love the holidays, but I am not a big fan of winter or the cold weather. I guess that doesn't come as a surprise since I am a self-proclaimed beach bum!  So, my countdown for Memorial Day Weekend is already on. :) Happy New Year, everyone!

Books Read in December:
1.  Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
2.  The Giver by Lois Lowry (re-read for "Classroom Book Review")
3.  Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
4.  The Distant Hours by Kate Morton
5.  Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
6.  Across the Universe by Beth Revis
7.  Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty
8.  Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough
9.  Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting (review to come next month!)

December Top Five:

1.  Favorite Book:  A tie between Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead and Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting

2.  Biggest Surprise:  Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty

3.  Biggest Letdown:  Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough

4.  Favorite Post:  Book Purses and 12/20/08

5.  Favorite Part of December: Spending time with family and friends over the holidays and catching up on my sleep.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Year's Eve. I am having some friends over tonight so I am off to get ready for that, but here's my wish for you this upcoming New Year:

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself." ~Neil Gaiman

Did a marathon read of VA series and just about died with Blood Promise. So far that has been my favorite one of all her books.
