What I'm Reading Next (36)

Ahhh! It's already August! How did this happen? There are SO, so many beach reads that I didn't get to.  I plan on reading beach reads until October, but the pressure is on to read as many as possible, because it's just not the same reading them in the fall.  Can you guys believe it's already August? What a strange summer it has been.

1.  The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline - I have heard such great things about Kline's Orphan Train, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I am dying to check out her latest novel one about Australia in the 19th century.

2.  The View From Here by Hannah McKinnon
McKinnon's previous beach reads have been really enjoyable, so I have high hopes for this one. It sounds like an engaging family drama set over the course of a summer in Connecticut.

3.  The Switch by Beth O'Leary
I am part of the blog tour for this novel and I really excited for this one. I think the premise of a granddaughter and grandmother switching places is absolutely adorable. Also, the book is being adapted for TV, with Rachel Bresnahan (Mrs. Maisel!!) attached to it.

4.  Red Sky Over Hawaii by Sara Ackerman
I have really loved Ackerman's last historical novels and I can't wait to revisit Hawaii during WWII.

5.  The Woman Before Wallis by Bryn Turnbull
I have always found Wallis Simpson to be really intriguing. I mean Prince Edward abdicated the throne for her, so this one will definitely be interesting!

6.  The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis
I have been impressed with Davis's previous novels and I love the premise of this one since it focuses on New York's Public Library. I hear GMA picked this novel as their book of the month.

I hope to pick up one (or all!) of these beach reads that I didn't get to yet.

The Second Home by Christina Clancy
On Ocean Boulevard by Mary Alice Monroe
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
The House on Fripp Island by Rebecca Kauffman

So, what books do you hope to read this month? Are any of these books on your TBR list? Let me know in the comments.

  1. There are so many up there I want to read - The Woman Before Wallis sounds really good. I got my copy of The Lions of Fifth Avenue a couple days early but still haven't started it!
