Giveaway: Sanditon

You guys know I am a huge fan of Jane Austen, so when I had the opportunity to share with you guys an amazing Austen giveaway, I knew I had to!  I've teamed up with Grand Central Publishing to host a giveaway for Sanditon by Jane Austen and Kate Riordan, which just came out yesterday. I will also be giving away a copy of The World of Sanditon by Sara Sheridan, which is the official illustrated companion to the upcoming TV show. If you aren't sure what TV show I am referring to, it's Masterpiece's Sanditon, which airs next month. Who is excited? Did you see the trailer?

Sanditon is the novel that Jane Austen was working on just months prior to her death.  Thankfully, Kate Riordan has completed it and now we can read it before the book comes to life on our TV screens.   I hope to read it over the holidays!

The World of Sanditon is a fantastic coffee table book for fans of the show as well as Janeites.  I also think Downton Abbey fans will like this show, too!  The book is filled with gorgeous behind the scene photos and interesting information about not only the show, but about Jane Austen herself.

Learn More About Sanditon:

"A tie-in to a major new limited television series in the vein of Downton Abbey, an exciting new completion of this unfinished masterpiece, Sanditon by Jane Austen.  Written only months before Austen's death in 1817, Sanditon tells the story of the joyously impulsive, spirited and unconventional Charlotte Heywood and her spiky relationship with the humorous, charming (and slightly wild!) Sidney Parker. When a chance accident transports her from her rural hometown of Willingden to the would-be coastal resort of the eponymous title, it exposes Charlotte to the intrigues and dalliances of a seaside town on the make, and the characters whose fortunes depend on its commercial success. The twists and turns of the plot, which takes viewers from the West Indies to the rotting alleys of London, exposes the hidden agendas of each character and sees Charlotte discover herself... and ultimately find love."

Learn More About The World of Sanditon:

"The official illustrated companion to PBS/Masterpiece's Sanditon, Jane Austen's final incomplete novel airing on primetime TV this January.  Jane Austen's final incomplete novel Sanditon will be brought to a primetime television audience on PBS/Masterpiece for the very first time by Emmy and BAFTA Award winning screenwriter Andrew Davies (War & PeaceMr. SelfridgeLes MisérablesPride and Prejudice).  This, the official companion to the Masterpiece series, contains everything a fan could want to know. It explores the world Austen created, along with fascinating insights about the period and the real-life heartbreak behind her final story. And it offers location guides, behind the scenes details, and interviews with the cast, alongside beautiful illustrations and set photography."

  1. OH yes. I am SO into this ... I'm quite curious, and definitely want to read before I watch. The teasers I've seen look gorgeous, so I'm sure the BBC has done another fabulous job.
