November Confessions

Wow. Somehow November has come and gone. Is it me or did that month just fly by more so than the others? I need to get a pause button for this month, because I want to savor the holiday season, but I am afraid it will be over in a blink of an eye.  I didn't have the best reading month, mostly due to all my favorite shows back on TV.....The Last Kingdom, Vikings, Outlander, The Durrells in Corfu....needless to say, it's been a great month for TV.  Here's what I did find time to read this month:

1.  My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan (Adult Fiction/Audio Book) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
2.  The Kennedy Debutante by Kerri Maher (Adult Historical Fiction) - 4 out of 5 stars
3.  The Other Woman by Sandie Jones (Adult Fiction) - 4 out of 5 stars
4.  Little White Lies by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (YA Fiction) - 3.5 out of 5 stars (Review to come)
5.  The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher (Middle Grade) - 4 out of 5 stars (Review to come)

1.  Favorite Book:  The Kennedy Debutante was my favorite read of the month. I love historical fiction and I adore the Kennedy family, so this was right up my alley. I have always wanted to learn more about Kick Kennedy.

2.  Biggest Disappointment: Little White Lies was fun, but I was hoping to love it a bit more than I did since I love southern fiction and this one takes place down south with a bunch of debutantes.  I haven't been connecting with YA fiction as of late. I wonder why this is? Welp, that's another blog post for another time.

3.  Biggest Surprise: The Christmasaurus was so darn cute. It was probably one of my favorite read-alouds that I did with my son, who is dinsoaur obsessed. I am part of this blog tour coming up soon, so keep your eye out for my review.

4.  Favorite PostChildren's Book Roundup

5.  Favorite Part of November: The long Thanksgiving weekend was just so nice. I had extra time with my family, had a relaxing Thanksgiving dinner, and even went out for a happy hour with my husband.  Now we are at the "most wonderful time of the year!"

Let me know your favorite read of the month in the comments below.

  1. I always love the long Thanksgiving weekend. I took the day before Thanksgiving off, too, so I had an extra-long weekend!
