I still can't believe the year is almost over. Did it fly by or what??  I read some fantastic books this year, but I did notice that I didn't read much YA. I think I am having a hard time connecting with a lot of the YA books out there. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

  1. I read a lot of historical fiction last year, too. It’s one of my favorite genres. I really liked The Great Alone. I still need to read Where The Crawdads Sing.

    1. Me too! The Great Alone was awesome. Not as good as The Nightingale, but still great. Crawdads is an awesome audio book. I am almost done it and really enjoying it! Thanks for visiting, AJ.

  2. Leslie's contemporary romance looks interesting. I remember the title, but haven't what it's all about; Jenn's and Morgan's are both still on my must-read list, and I've seen Beatriz's books various places, but never read anything by her. Glad you discovered some new favorites in 2018! :)

  3. I think I'm reading less YA these days, too, just a couple select authors. We have really similar taste in books - I loved The Summer Wives and Something in the Water, too.

  5. I haven't made my list yet but The Great Alone will definitely be on it. Where the Crawdads Sings is one I wanted to read but didn't get a chance to. I really liked One Day in December and I liked The Wife Between Us. I just tried reading their new book but I couldn't get into it unfortunately.

I read fewer YA books in 2018 too. Mostly it was rereads (Harry Potter and Rick Riordan) but I did read some new YA books that I liked (Save the Date was one of them).

Hope you have a fantastic 2019!

    1. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one who read less YA this year. It definitely makes me sad. I DNF a lot of YA books. Hopefully this year will be better! Thanks for visiting, Christina! Will you be returning to blogging? I miss you and hope you have a great start to 2019!

    2. Thanks! I am seriously considering returning to blogging this month. I think my last post was from February 2018. I have missed you and missed writing too.

I hope that I will find more YA books I like this year. I am currently rereading To All the Boys I've Loved Before (after watching the Netflix movie) and I never read the sequels so I will definitely be giving those a try. I also just finished Refugee by Alan Gratz. I thought it was very moving though the writing wasn't always the greatest.
