What I'm Reading Next (3)

There are so many fantastic books coming out this month! I love to cozy up with a warm beverage, watch the leaves fall, and enjoy a good book. A spooky and atmospheric read is also appreciated this month as well.  Here are the books that are on my nightstand this month.

YA Fiction:

The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand - I adore Cynthia Hand. I think she is such a talented author and I am excited to check out her twist on the classic A Christmas Carol.

Wild Beauty by Ann-Marie McLemore - I am not sure this book is for me, but I adore the cover. I have been a bit of a mood reader lately, so I will have to be in the mood to pick up this new title. It's being described as falling under the umbrella of magical realism and I hear the writing is beautiful!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas - I didn't get to this book last month, so I most definitely want to make time to read this important and moving novel! I've heard such great things about it and I hear it is being made into a movie already!

Adult Fiction:

An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon - I am listening to this audio book and it will probably take me forever till January to finish it, but I still want start it this month. Anyone else an Outlander fan?

The One That Got Away by Melissa Pimentel - I meant to read this book last month, so I definitely plan on checking it out this October. I love a good Jane Austen retelling.

I Found You by Lisa Jewell - This was a "beach read" that I didn't get to this summer. I am looking for something a bit atmospheric, mysterious and thrilling to read this October; I'd say this fits the bill.

Have you read any of these books? Are they on my TBR list? What do you plan to read this month?

  1. I read Wild Beauty in June and just loved it. So beautiful and magical and great story of family and love too. I hope to get to Holly Chase this month as well. It sounds fun. Hopefully the premise is executed well. The One that Got Away looks really good. I have not read any Austen, but I love a good second chance romance.

  2. I'm really looking forward to Holly Chase. I read The One That Got Away a little while ago, and it was good. I'm a fan of the Outlander books, but yeah, they take a really long time to read!

  3. I read "I Found You" and thought it was good, but not outstanding. It is a bit mysterious and creepy, the writing is solid, but the plot line was a bit far-fetched.
