Top Ten Tuesday: New to Me Authors I Read in 2016

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about new-to-me authors that I read in 2016.  I came across some really great ones (Robin Constantine, Curtis Sittenfeld, Taylor Jenkins Reid and more!) and if you are interested in reading my review of any of these books, check out my review archive.

1.  Nora Roberts - You would have thought I'd pick up a Nora Roberts book by now, but I haven't despite the fact that they seem to be everywhere. I was intrigued by her Gallaghers of Ardmore series since I love all things Ireland.  Jewels of the Sun was definitely an interesting read and Roberts brought Ireland to life beautifully.

2.  Curtis Sittenfeld  - Eligible is one of my favorite books of the year. It's not easy to pull off a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice, but Sittenfeld did it brilliantly.

3.  Liane Moriarty - Moriarty is another author that I probably should have read by now. I really enjoyed The Husband's Secret, but wasn't the biggest fan of Truly Madly Guilty.  I plan on reading Big Little Lies next, which I hear is fantastic and won't disappoint me in the least.

4.  Robin Constantine - The Season of You & Me is one of my favorite book of the year. It's the perfect summertime read and I definitely want to read more of her work in the future.

5.  Mary Kay Andrews - Being the beach bum that I am, how on Earth have I never picked up one of her novels? The Weekenders was definitely a fun beach read -- perfect for vacation!

6.  Taylor Jenkins Reid - This is my absolute favorite new-to-me author. She is just freaking awesome and One True Loves is one of my favorite books of the year. I also read Maybe in Another Life this year and loved it as well. What should I read of hers next? After I Do?

7.  Sabaa Tahir - I felt like I was the last person on the planet to not read An Ember in the Ashes. It was definitely an entertaining young adult novel; I can easily see why it was so popular.

8.  Rachel Hauck - Christian fiction novels usually aren't my cup of tea, but I really liked The Wedding Shop. It was the perfect combination of romance and historical fiction with a small side of Christian themes. Definitely a feel good read!

9.  Alison Goodman - I know a few readers who are huge fans of Goodman, so I was glad I finally got the chance to read The Dark Days Club.

10.  Liza Klaussman - Villa America was one of my favorite books that I read this year. I must get my hands on a copy of her other novel, Tigers in Red Weather. Klaussman is an incredible writer.

Who are some of the new-to-you authors that you read this year? Let me know in the comments below.  This meme is hosted by  The Broke and The Bookish.

I will have to check out Villa America. I've had Tigers in Red Weather on my TBR list for awhile.

  3. I love Liane Moriarty, but was also a little disappointed in Truly Madly Guilty. Big Little Lies will not disappoint! I think it's her best.

  4. I found a copy of Eligible at a library book sale last month, and it's very near the top of my to-read list. It's wonderful to hear it's a good Pride and Prejudice retelling!

  5. Big Little Lies is Moriarty's best work, I think. So I hope you'll get to read it soon especially since Reese Witherspoon is producing a series based on this book!

  6. Liane Moriarty is one of my favs. She would have definitely made my 2015 list, if I had made one. I didn't enjoy Truly Madly Guilty as I have her other books but I'll still line up to read the next book she publishes.

  8. I've only read one of these authors! Many many years ago, I read Nora Robert's Three Sisters Trilogy. I remember loving it! But somehow I never picked up any of her other stuff. I really need to get around to Alison Goodman's series--it looks so good!
