Friday Five (28)

Happy Friday! Sometimes I like to talk about what I am currently into that is not necessarily book related. Here's what I have been up to/thinking about/enjoying lately. Let me know what you think!

1.  The Outlandish Companion - I used a birthday gift card to buy this monstrous book with the hopes that it would help me remember what happened in each Outlander novel (at least books 1-4) since it is taking me quite awhile to read through this series.  I love that it provides a detailed synopsis of each book and also includes fun tidbits like FAQs, insight into Diana Gabaldon's writing, and book to screen information.  For the hardcore Outlander fans, this book is a lot of fun.

2.  The White Queen - This was one of my favorite shows on Starz back in 2013, but then they didn't pick it back up despite the fact that there's so MUCH more to cover.  Well, I just read that they are writing the script for The White Princess right now and it will air on Starz in 2017.  Woo hoo! Anyone else a fan? Philippa Gregory's The Cousins' War series is one of my favorites.

3.  Litsy - I am new to this iPhone app and still trying to figure it out, but if you are on there, come find me! My name is Bookaddict and if you have no idea what Litsy is, basically it's a fun Instagram for books; plus, you can get some good recommendations. Let me know if you are on there and your username.

4. Spring Reading - I am all about the spring/summertime books that will be hitting the shelves soon. Plus, this weather here in PA has been beautiful! What are some of the books you are looking forward to checking out this spring/summer? I hope to read many new releases while also checking out some "older" reads that I didn't get to last summer, like Keeping the Moon, The Matchmaker, and Villa America.

5. Caterpillars - Yes, we have caterpillars in our house. We are currently watching them undergo a metamorphosis into beautiful painted lady butterflies. My son loves all things bugs, so I thought this would be a fun activity for him.  I ended up being completely mesmerized by this. It's fascinating to see how they change everyday. We are looking forward to releasing them outside!

Happy Friday and thanks for visiting,

  1. I should read The Outlandish Companion. I've only read the first four Outlander books and I started rereading them a few years ago and only got through the first two.

Litsy sounds cool. I have an Instagram account but I don't use it that much.

I'm in the mood for spring and summer books too but right now I am still getting caught up on winter releases. I am looking forward to reading books like Love & Gelato, Summer of Sloane and The Unexpected Everything.

    1. The Outlandish Companion is great if you want to recap the first four books....I definitely plan on revisiting it before season two of the show as well. I am so excited for all of the books you mentioned. I have high hopes for all three. Thanks for visiting, Christina!

  2. I need to watch The White Queen Christina! I remember seeing it advertised on Starz and I meant to record but of course I forgot until I was too many episodes behind that it felt daunting to catch up. Since the new show starts in 2017 though, I think I have time to watch now:)
