Waiting on Wednesday: First & Then

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine.  "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that I'm eagerly anticipating.

First & Then by Emma Mills
Pub. Date: October 13, 2015

Goodreads says, "Devon Tennyson wouldn't change a thing. She's happy watching Friday night games from the bleachers, silently crushing on best friend Cas, and blissfully ignoring the future after high school. But the universe has other plans. It delivers Devon's cousin Foster, an unrepentant social outlier with a surprising talent for football, and the obnoxiously superior and maddeningly attractive star running back, Ezra, right where she doesn't want them first into her P.E. class and then into every other aspect of her life. Pride and Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights in this contemporary novel about falling in love with the unexpected boy, with a new brother, and with yourself."
Pride and Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights? I.am.so.excited! What a brilliant combination!! What do you guys think?

  1. I actually wasn't that interested in reading this until I found out about the Jane Austen connection. I read a review that said it isn't just Pride and Prejudice but other Austen novels too that are echoed in the book. Makes me want to give it a try!

  5. Great choice. I love Friday Night Lights so anything that is reminiscent of that sounds amazing to me. Also I've seen a few of the author's YouTube videos and I like her sense of humor a lot so I'm sure there will be a lot of that in this as well.
