A Brief Blog Break

Source
I am so excited to share that I am taking a short blog break, because I'll be traveling with my husband on his work rewards trip.  We have the opportunity to go to England (for free!!!), so I am taking it! Thankfully, my little guy will be with my family, so I am not too worried; plus, it's a relatively short trip.

I hear I may be spending an evening at this fabulous place pictured below.  Cue my excitement and I may or may not faint upon arrival.

Highclere Castle (a.k.a. Downton Abbey)  Source

Any other must-see locations in London while I am away? We are seeing all the major sights, but anything off the beaten path I shouldn't miss? Let me know. It's my first time visiting England.

More importantly, here are the books I am bringing for the flight/trip. I like to have a lot of options! Being the mom of a very, VERY active toddler, the idea of sitting for 6+ hours on a flight and possibly reading a book (even if it's on a red-eye) sounds very appealing.

I'll be sure to share pictures and my experiences when I come back.  If interested, check out my Instagram and Twitter while I am away. I'll be updating as much as possible and sharing my adventures.  I hope you guys have a great week and thanks for visiting!

  2. Oh my goodness, I'm so excited for you -- and jealous, I'll admit! I love, love, love England and have visited London three times, but I can't get enough. I'm dying to go back with my husband (will be his first time there), but I don't think that will be in the cards for a bit!

One of the best meals we had was at the Sherlock Holmes, not far from Trafalgar Square (also one of my favorite spots!), and I basically just loved taking the tube anywhere and everywhere. Covent Garden is a really fun place to wander around, and all the highlights -- the London Eye; Big Ben; Hyde Park -- are more than worth visiting.

    Have the best time!

    1. We loved the tube as well, Meg! So easy to use and great to get around in. I loved the London Eye, Big Ben and I didn't get to see Covent Garden, so next time! This was a short trip. Thank you for your feedback and for visiting!

  5. I adore London! If you get the chance, the walk from The London Eye to the Tate museum is amazing! You're next to the river and you get to see all the graffiti artists working and what not, it's pretty cool if you're into that sort of weird scene! Also, go see a show on the West End if you can fit it in. The caliber of talent is amazing! Have fun!

  6. Whoa! England? Downton Abbey? For free? *faints* That's amazing! I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back, hopefully with lots of photographs. It WOULD be just my timing to visit you for the first time (thanks for dropping by TMG!) only to have you be gone, hah.
