Series: Embrace (#1), Entice (#2), Emblaze (#3),
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Goodreads says, "LOVE WILL KILL US ALL.  Violet Eden thought she was getting things under control. Then all hell breaks loose-literally. In the war between angels and exiles, she's about to face the biggest baddie of all time. Except she's not nearly ready. The dark exile Phoenix is still messing with her head-not to mention her heart. And her undeniable attraction to Lincoln has gotten downright dangerous. When Hell unleashes its worst, Violet must embrace every facet of her angel self to save the people she cares about and the world as she knows it. But death is not the worst thing she will face..."

In the fourth installment of the Embrace series, Violet finds herself facing off with the bad guys once again.  It's an ongoing war between the angels and the exiles and of course, Phoenix, no matter how hard she tries to resist him, is always in the picture.  The craziness of the last book, Emblaze, has sort of soaked in for Violet. Her mother, Evelyn, is back and her dad is not only trying to process this, but also who his daughter actually is.  Then, of course, there's Lincoln and their ongoing romance, which they both know could have horrendous consequences.  But the bigger issue is Lilith.  She is back and is ready to destroy innocents for her cause and Violet knows she has to step in and defeat her at all costs.  Jessica Shirvington's Endless is full of twists, turns, and jaw dropping moments which left me emotionally hungover for days.

Violet is a character that I really liked, especially in the first two books of the series, but then in book three, Emblaze, she sort of wore on my nerves.  Thankfully, that wasn't the case in Endless.  Violet is getting stronger, is learning more about herself and her powers, and is allowing herself to be with Lincoln.  Can I get an AMEN!?!  How long have we been waiting for Lincoln and Violet's moment in the sun? After Emblaze I was worried that this whole love-you-but-can't-be-with-you story line would play out forever, but that isn't the case in Endless. So, needless to say, there were some major swoon-worthy moments between Lincoln and Violet.

Phoenix is an important character and while I really didn't enjoy him in the previous books, he started to grow on me in Endless.  I felt badly for him and could empathize (for once!) with him.  His relationship with Violet gets better in this book and isn't as strange/obsessive. He definitely lets his walls down, but let's be honest...he's no Lincoln.

Endless is filled with Shirvington's trademark twists and turns that shocked the heck out of me.  I love that there is so much action in this series and I can always count on Shirvington's writing to really keep me on the edge of my seat.  So, if you like a lot of action in your paranormal romances, this is a series you must try!

Endless is the epitome of an edge of your seat thrill ride that leaves you emotionally drained at the end.  There are some big WHAT? and WHY? moments in Endless that completely wrecked me and left me desperately searching Goodreads for the release day of Empower, the last book in the series, which comes out in 2014.

  1. I still haven't started this series yet but I think I will wait till all the books are published. The characters sound really interesting though I hate love triangles. I am curious about the author's take on angels. I recently started rereading the Mortal Instruments series which also features Lilith as a character.

    2. Every book in this series has been fabulous, but this was is the best so far. It has action, drama and will emotionally draw the reader into everything Violet is feeling...right up until the last page.
