July Confessions

I'm definitely not reading as many books each month as I was this past winter, but that's because I have been outside and loving the summertime!  We have also had a busy month. My family and friends celebrated Dylan's 1st birthday (where did the time go?!) and I spent many a weekend at the shore.  We also have been busy renovating our house so we can put it up on the market ASAP.  As usual, I am sad to see July end. I feel like the summer is flying by. SLLLOOOWWWW DOWN!

Books Read in July:
1.  Five Summers by Una LaMarche - 3.5 out of 5 stars
2.  Impostor by Susanne Winnaker - 4.5 out of 5 stars
3.  Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand - 4 out of 5 stars
4.  The White Princess (Cousins' War #5) by Philippa Gregory - 4 out of 5 stars
5.  Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike - 4 out of 5 stars
6.  Belladonna (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #2) by Fiona Paul - 4 out of 5 stars (Review to come)

July Top Five:

1.  Favorite Book: Impostor by Susanne Winnaker- I loved the X-Men meets The Body Finder feel of this book.

2.  Biggest Surprise: Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike- I recently read Life After Theft by the same author and although it was a fun book, it wasn't my favorite.  So I was nervous to read this one;  however, I was pleasantly surprised!

3.  Biggest Disappointment:  I felt Five Summers was cute, but it didn't "wow" me like I was hoping.

4.  Favorite Post: My review of The White Princess by Philippa Gregory - I LOVE this series.

5.  Favorte Part of July: My little guy's 1st birthday.  :) I still can't believe he is one.

I hope everyone had a great July,

  3. I'm always a little sad when August arrives because the summer is winding down!

I had an incredibly busy July and August is going to be busy too. Maybe I'll be able to catch up in September...

I will have to check out Earthbound. I haven't read anything by her yet though I think I will not be reading Life After Theft. I happen to love The Scarlet Pimpernel and from what I've read about Life After Theft, it doesn't really follow that story at all.
