January Confessions

I'm going to be honest with you.....January is one of my least favorite months. Parts of January here in Pennsylvania were SOOO cold and as I write this post we've got some snow falling.  I'm such a summer person through and through. No amount of hot chocolate can make me love winter, but I must admit, the snow is pretty!  With all this cold weather, I've been reading a heck of a lot more, because who wants to go somewhere when it's 15 degrees out?  I'm off to a good start in 2013 and I hope I keep it up!

Books Read in January:
1.  Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber - 4 stars
2.  The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - 5 stars
3.  The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart by Leanna Renee Hieber - 3.5 stars
4.  The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin - 4.5 stars
5.  The Diviners by Libba Bray - 4 stars
6.  Indiscretion by Charles Dubow - 4 stars
7.  The Heiresses by Allison Rushby- 3.5 stars (Review to come!)
8.  Changeling by Philippa Gregory- 4 stars (Review to come!)
9.  Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys - 5 stars (Review to come!)

January Top Five:

1) Favorite Book: It's a tie between The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. The Fault in Our Stars is everything people said it would be. And more. Out of the Easy is a brilliant historical read. I LOVED it.

2) Biggest Disappointment:  All of the books that I read this month were pretty good.  If I had to pick, I would go with The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart by Leanna Renee Hieber only because the sequel wasn't as good as the first book, Darker Still.

3) Biggest Surprise: The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin- I bought this book on sale at Target, because I thought it looked decent. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I really enjoyed it!

4) Favorite Post: My 3rd Blogoversary Giveaway

5) Favorite Part of January- Watching the snow come down with Baby D

  1. Your confession makes me think of your old header. That's how I forever imagine you. On the beach. :)

  2. Hahaha yes, I cannot see you in snow at all Christina, you are summer through and through. I'm a HUGE winter person, I live for snow, so January is one of my favorite months. I don't, however, like when it's freezing cold and there's no snow. If it's going to be cold, there needs to be snow on the ground, otherwise it just needs to be warm:) I still need to read The Fault in Our Stars, I haven't seen one bad review for it yet!

  3. Oh wow, I am so glad that January is over. I am not a fan of cold weather, but even more than that, I hate the rain, and as you know I happen to live in a country where it rains almost constantly. January was pretty bad for rain. I am so ready for sunshine!

Can't wait to read your review for Out of the Easy! :)

  5. I love it when a book suprises you in a good way! :)
I love watching snow fall! All the snow has gone now and I'm actually pretty happy about it. The last few days were a mess with it.

Hope you had an awesome weekend!
