Waiting on Wednesday: Burn For Burn

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine.  "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Burn For Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
Pub. Date: September 18, 2012

Goodreads says, "Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister. Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay. Four years ago, May left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him. Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste."

*The synopsis of Burn For Burn doesn't sound like something I'd normally read; however, I am obsessed with Jenny Han. She is one of my favorite authors.  The Summer series is my favorite series of all-time and I'll read anything she writes!  What do you guys think?

  1. It sounds like it could be good but I kind of wish the story just focused on one girl instead of three. Revenge isn't my favorite plotline unless it is done right. I will wait to hear what you think of it :)

I might try the Summer series though. That sounds like a fun series to pick up. I don't like the name Belly (which was the initial thing that kept me reading it) but the books are popular and you like them so...

  2. I'm excited for this one! I think it sounds like a lot of fun! This post just reminded me that I need to buy the third book in Han's Summer series to see how it all ends.

  3. I can't say the whole revenge plot is all that appealing to me either, but like you, Jenny Han is an author I don't want to pass on. I haven't read anything by her yet, but I've heard such amazing things about her Summer series and I definitely want to give her a try!

  7. It sounds like it could be good. The Summer I Turned Pretty was a good book so I'm definitely interested. I added this one because it's Jenny Han as well.

  8. Once I saw the name Jenny Han, I was intrigued. Hopefully this one will be as good as her other work, although it does sound very different.

    Great WoW! :)

  9. i think this one sounds like it could be really interesting. as long as she does it a way that is serious and not gossippy. I'd like to see how she handles it.
