Fabulous Beach Reads

I've read and reviewed some excellent beach reads since I've started blogging and while there are some exciting beach reads coming out this summer, there are many that were published in the past few years that are pretty captivating!  Check some of my beach reads that I've reviewed and hopefully you can find an "oldie but a goodie" for your beach bag this summer.


Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson- This book is perfect to read while on vacation or soaking up the afternoon sun at the beach. One of my favorite aspects of this book was the fact that it included so many really cool artifacts from the road trip and postcards.


Sea Change by Aimee Friedman- This book takes place on the mysterious Selkie Island off of the coast of Savannah. I love how Friedman incorporated fantasy elements in this beach read.


Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler  - If you are looking for a more serious beach read, definitely check this one out. I thought it was a powerful tale about love and loss.


Summer series by Jenny Han- There are three books in this series and if you know me, you know I'm obsessed. You must check this series out if you haven't read it yet and be sure to check out my giveaway for the third and final book in the series, We'll Always Have Summer.  As far as I'm concerned this series is the quintessential beach read.


Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots by Abby McDonald - If you are a fan of an outdoorsy read, you must pick up a copy of this one.  It takes place in rural Canada, so I'm sure you can imagine some of the adventures in this book.


Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen- Dessen knows how to capture the magic of summer and this one is one of my favorites by Dessen. Be sure to check out my giveaway; you could win a copy of this book!


The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell-  This is the perfect beach read and indulgence for fans of Sex and the City.


Steel by Carrie Vaughn- If you like pirates, the Caribbean, and beaches, you must grab a copy of this one for your beach bag.


Second Time Around by Beth Kendrick- This adult novel focuses on a group of friends who meet every summer and have a mini-reunion.  They have a chance to live their dreams and this book has readers questioning.....what if?
