NaNoWriMo

After thinking about it for awhile, I decided....why not? I'll go for it.  Even though November is like the Super Bowl for teachers in my building because of conferences and report cards, I figured I would throw caution to the wind and give it a try.  Even if I don't reach the goal, I'm sure it will be a worthwhile experience.

So, with that said, if you are participating in NaNoWriMo, let me know! My user name on there is Chris327 and I am definitely looking for writing buddies.  Let me know if you are participating!

Now I just have to think of a good idea.....hopefully I'll be inspired soon, because it starts in a little over a week.  I've also decided that even if what I end up writing is horrendous, it's the experience that counts.....at least that's what I keep telling myself! ;)

"Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself."  ~ William Faulkner

Have a great weekend,

  2. Whoa, you ARE brave, Christina! But good for you and good luck! Keep us posted on your progress!

Why can't National Novel Writing Month be in JULY?

(Okay, I know why. When the teachers finally get to send the kids home, then their parents have them and can't get any writing done!)

  5. Good luck! I hope it goes well for you. I still haven't decided if I'll actually participate, and as yet I have no concrete ideas either. Hmmm...

I'll let you know if I do, though. :)

  9. (I'm sure you already know this...but I thought it is worth repeating.) My students and I are participating in the Young Writers Program through NaNoWriMo. It's awesome: there are dozens of lesson plans to facilitate planning and writing, not to mention instructions on how to embark on a novel-writing experience. My kids (7th grade) are super excited. This week we are planning our characters, plot, etc. You can plan, plan, plan, but can't write until Nov.1. CreateSpace.com even offers the kids a free copy of their manuscript if they reach their word goal! Awesome! I'll be writing right along with you - good luck! (This kids only have to get to about 2,000 words, while I'll still be challenging myself with 50,000. Yikes!)

  13. Yay!!! Yay!!! I am so glad that you decided to do this. I figure that the worst thing that can happen is I don't finish. I am so excited to read about your progress.

I am super nervous for this challenge but I think it will be fun :)
