In My Mailbox #28

Matched by Ally Condie
*I got an ARC of Matched through Book It Forward Tours. I've been so excited for this one; the premise is incredible. I just started it yesterday and I am extremely impressed with the way Condie creates such a unique world.  It reminds of The Giver by Lois Lowry!
Goodreads says, "In the Society, Officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die.  Cassia has always trusted their choices. It’s barely any price to pay for a long life, the perfect job, the ideal mate. So when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is the one . . . until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now Cassia is faced with impossible choices: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path no one else has ever dared follow—between perfection and passion.  Matched is a story for right now and storytelling with the resonance of a classic."

Radiance by Alyson Noel
*I received this one from a fellow blogger, Jenn at Book Crazy.  She knows that I am a fan of the character Riley and was kind enough to pass this ARC along to me.  How awesome is she? Thanks again, Jenn! You're the best! I can't wait to see where Riley's story goes.
Goodreads says, "Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. Riley and her dog, Buttercup, have been reunited with her parents and are just settling into a nice, relaxing death when she's summoned before The Council. They let her in on a secret—the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.  Riley, Bodhi, and Buttercup return to earth for her first assignment, a Radiant Boy who's been haunting a castle in England for centuries. Many Soul Catchers have tried to get him to cross the bridge and failed. But he's never met Riley."
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
*Need I say more? I read it in a few days and quickly wrote my review. Amazing!
Goodreads says, "Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.  It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.  The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost."
Greek: Double Date by Marsha Warner
*I received this one for review from Tricia at Media Muscle.  I know my students are a fan of Greek so I am excited to check out this first installment to a new series based on the popular TV show.  Thanks for sending me this, Tricia!
Goodreads says, "Two dates—same night! Major oops. When Casey Cartwright's brother begs her to be nerdy Dale Kettlewell's date to the sure-to-be-boring Honors Engineering Awards, Casey says yes. Even though Dale is totally not her type… and might have a crush on her. Ugh. But it's a nice thing to do, and Casey's always been the "nice" girl. But now, that night conflicts with the biggest event of the semester, the All-Greek formal. Casey already has a date lined up: hot transfer student Rob Howell. He's her plan to get over her sexy-slacker ex, Cappie. And even nice girls get to be bad sometimes, right? What to do? With a little help from BFF Ashleigh, unwanted advice from frenemy Rebecca Logan and even a push from Cappie, what Casey does may surprise even herself."

What did you guys get in your mailbox?  Have you read these books? Let me know what you think.  I look forward to checking out everyone's  mailboxes. Have a great day!  This meme is hosted by The Story Siren.
