Waiting on Wednesday: Radiance

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine. "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Radiance by Alyson Noel
Pub. Date: August 31, 2010

Goodreads says, "Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. Riley and her dog, Buttercup, have been reunited with her parents and are just settling into a nice, relaxing death when she's summoned before The Council. They let her in on a secret—the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.  Riley, Bodhi, and Buttercup return to earth for her first assignment, a Radiant Boy who's been haunting a castle in England for centuries. Many Soul Catchers have tried to get him to cross the bridge and failed. But he's never met Riley..."

*I've been looking forward to this spin-off  series for awhile, especially since it's geared towards middle grades! (Woo hoo!)  If you have read Evermore, I'm sure you are familiar with the awesome character of Riley, Ever's sister.  She was my favorite character from Evermore.  Plus, I am also pretty excited about Buttercup; I love that Alyson Noel includes her on Riley's mission.  For fans of Noel, this one sounds promising!  What book are you guys waiting on?

  1. I was a little confuse with the synopsis, but when you mentioned that it's a spin-off of Evermore, it made sense, since I didn't read the series.

Still interesting though. Great WoW pick!

  6. I'm actually kinda interested in this series! Love the cover, too. Have you heard of Wildwing by Emily Whitman or The House of Dead Maids by Claire Dunkle? Both are upcoming YA hist fic (which always makes me think of you lol). The latter is about Heathcliff, pre-Wuthering Heights!
