Teaser Tuesday #19

A weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and the author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.

Spells by Aprilynne Pike

"'Are you free to be anything more than a friend to me?  If," and she stress the if heavily, "I ever decide to live in Avalon and wanted to be with you, would you be free enough to do that?' He looked away, and Laurel could tell he'd been avoiding a conversation like this."  (page 97)
*I'm enjoying this one even more than Wings.  Many bloggers said that Aprilynne Pike has stepped up her game with this novel and I completely agree.  I am thoroughly enjoying this one!

  5. Great dialogue on this one. Sounds like a good read! Right now I am half way into a new crime thriller called, "Rogues, Riches and Retribution." It's different from other crime stories and very compelling. Here's a two sentence teaser from the book. Enjoy!:

"In dismay his eyes furtively scanned the parking lot as he hurried back to his car but she was nowhere to be seen. In anger he kicked a car tire with his cowboy boot."
