Teaser Tuesday #18

A weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and the author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.

Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict
by Laurie Viera Rigler

"But how can I be awake yet not have my own name, my own body, my own voice?  When I am able to form words my voice croaks, "Where am I?" (page 13)

*I'm reading this one for the Book Rat's Jane in June Event.  If you are a Jane Austen fan, check it out! I have read all of Jane's novels, but there are so many contemporary takes on Jane that I'd love to read!  This one was first on my list! Isn't that cover hilarious?

  7. I liked this one but I have to admit that I preferred Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict just because Courtney got to go back in time and live in Regency England. I hope you enjoy the book!

  14. Oh, I love Rigler's books -- and most of the modern takes on Jane's classics, too! Rude Awakenings was such fun, and I actually think I liked it even better than the first.
