Teaser Tuesday #12

A weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and the author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.
Luxe by Anna Godbersen

"At the Richmond Hayeses' ball, on the evening of September the sixteenth, the young lady of the house was seen dancing quite amorously with a certain young man whom we shall refer to by the initials HS.  They were a pair so obviously pleased by each other's company that members of society are whispering that an engagement is not far off, though an announcement had not yet to be made by press time."  (page 77)

*I've been dying to read this series and so far I am enjoying this book. It's definitely my guilty pleasure in between a lot of the more "serious" books I am reading for review. Plus, I adore this cover!

*Lastly, don't forget to enter my giveaway for Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Last day to enter is Friday and if you haven't read the book yet, you definitely need to.  Read my review and enter the giveaway by clicking here!

  10. I am glad that you are enjoying this book. My assistant and I call the girls who love this series and are passing it from hand-to-hand the "fancy dress girls" and are trying to find other books that they will like too. Suggestions?

  14. Thanks for all the comments!

Kathy- Your comment made me laugh out loud. I haven't read The Gossip Girl books, but some of my girls, who also like Luxe, enjoy that series. It's pretty much mindless fun....which is definitely what I need right now. :)

Faye- Thank you so much! I like your blog as well - I esp. love your "About Me" description. 35 years teaching experience! I am in awe!
