I think I just wasn't ready to read another psychological thriller. I was happy I didn't read it in advance so I could be surprised by a few of the twists. Thanks for visiting, AJ. For once, I was happy to not have read it. Eliza Scanlen was amazing! Haunting! I agree about the pace. The first five episodes were definitely slow and I almost gave up on the show. Yes, the self-harm stuff sort of freaked me out, but I was amazed by Amy Adams. She did an awesome job. Haha. You crack me up about John Keene. He did have a Riggins vibe. ;) Thanks for visiting, Leanna!Christina / Book Addicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06661826027260861430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244224993534617084.post-63818725547505345392018-09-07T14:42:39.122-04:002018-09-07T14:42:39.122-04:00I haven't watched or read either of these, but...I haven't watched or read either of these, but I'm often torn when book adaptations come out which to do first! Sometimes I like to watch first because then I won't be so disappointed when they leave so much out of the movie! xDLittle Miss Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09350490261395026094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244224993534617084.post-33098222014240690672018-09-07T09:59:21.976-04:002018-09-07T09:59:21.976-04:00I watched Sharp Objects and thought it was okay. That’s strange for me because I usually insist on reading the book before I see the movie/show.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
Aj @ Read All The Things!https://www.blogger.com/profile/02860483414620371093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244224993534617084.post-2970099171117784202018-09-07T06:26:37.395-04:002018-09-07T06:26:37.395-04:00I watched! I kind of wish I hadn't, because I found the ending of the book SO surprising and, of course, when I watched the show I knew what was going on right from the start - so it kind of detracted from the show a little bit for me. I thought the acting was great in the show (a real breakout role for Eliza Scanlen) but I felt the pace was slow at times. I also found the show difficult to watch in places (the self-harm stuff). Overall I enjoyed it, though I remember liking the book more (it's been a few years since I read it). Also, I had a bit of a crush on John Keene. Hot stuff! :DLeanna Ellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17156147175772720617noreply@blogger.com
